Sergio Mantecon defeats Josep Betalú at the Titan Desert
Manteco was the winner of the Overall Classifcation and the Stage 4 Winner in the Garmin Titan Desert!
This 6 day mountain bike race consists of 5 stages and 7,000 meters of elevation gain. He had finished 9th in the XMC World Championships and came out stronger to pull off an overall win at the Desert. We sat down with Mr. Mantecon to ask him about the race.
Sergio, how did you feel about your performance?
“I’m very happy to take the win. I arrived to the race just to live the experience of a different race, because a race and train for the Olympic discipline, races of 1h20min, and this stage race are 5 days and long races.
I was really surprise with my performance.”
How did the race handle the Corona Pandemic?
“About covid, the organizer did a really good job. Everybody did a test, and then create a big bubble during all the event.”

Sergio Mantecon is a spanish cross-country mountain biker. He currently rides for the Polish Kross Racing Team. When training and racing, Mantecon wears FLR’s F-95x.
The Titan Desert is an international cross-country race broadcasted throughout 150 countries worldwide. The race was originally scheduled for March 2020, but with the health of the riders taken into consideration the race was moved to November.
